If you came to this page expecting a fly and corned beef solution to the energy needs of mankind, I'm afraid you're going to be dissapointed. The above video is a spoof on perpetual motion machines, also called free energy machines, or an over unity devices. It's a little more rediculous than many videos out there, but it uses many of the same logical fallacies to construct an argument.
It's often hard to identify all of the energy inputs, stores and interactions in a machine, and so it's very easy to convince yourself that you're getting energy from nowhere and that you're breaking the law of conservation of energy.
History is littered with perpetual motion machines. Early machines were purely mechanical, soon followed water and steam based machines. Modern machines tend to be based around magnets. A search on youtube for "free energy" returns a multitude of interesting machines.
